MP concerned that DfT will "get our local rail services wrong again"

Local MP John Pugh has expressed concerns about the ability of the Department for Transport (DfT) to oversee the franchise bidding process for local rail services in the light of the collapse of the West Coast Mainline bid by First Group, who were controversially awarded the franchise in August and were due to take over the running of the line this month from Virgin.
