Pugh raises local concerns in Rail Debate

John Pugh took up the cause of Southport constituents forced to endure dreadful train services across the North in a Parliamentary debate on the Northern Hub yesterday. Overcrowding and severe delays have become commonplace as a consequence of years of neglect of rail in the North by successive governments.

Yesterday in Parliament John Pugh hosted a debate on the possibility of introducing Design and Technology skills to the Primary School curriculum. Currently Design and Technology is statutory from 5-14, and the danger is that it may become non-statutory in both primary and secondary. Dr. Pugh remarked:

John Pugh MP called today for private companies refusing to replace possibly dangerous PIP breast implants to be banned from practising breast augmentation. The scandal over the implants emerged following the news that the deaths of several women in France were linked to faulty breast implants which had also been given to tens of thousands of women in the UK.

MORE SUPER-FAST BROADBAND FOR SOUTHPORT

Southport is getting improved access to BT’s super-fast broadband networks as they are rolled out across the country. As part of the roll-out, another 184,000 homes across the region will be connected to the network, taking the total number up to over 1.7million.
